Chair - Dr Angela Williams

Dr Williams has 24 years of experience in clinical forensic medicine as a senior medical practitioner, holding postgraduate qualifications in medicine, public health, health management, law and business.

She holds extensive Board and Committee experience across a variety of sectors (Government and Not-For-Profit) including health, emergency services, justice, community safety, child welfare, the Australian Defence Force and AFL.

Dr Williams has also consistently been part of the Victorian football eco-system, including as Deputy Chair, valued member and contributor to the FV constitutional reform process, a senior member of the GDT, an active parent/participant at community football and a fervent advocate for equity in football.

Elected to the Board in May 2021, Yianni Zaparas’ name will be familiar to many for his company’s ongoing support of our football community.

Yianni is a partner of Zaparas Lawyers, an organisation which; over the past decade; been a highly visible, significant sponsor of many teams and organisations within Victorian football.

Yianni played extensively as a junior at Clubs including Glen Waverley (now Eastern Lions), Clarinda (now Kingston City), Heidelberg United reserve team, South Melbourne reserve team, and Collingwood Warriors reserve team.

A member and supporter of Football Victoria’s Community in Business since its inception and former FFV Tribunal Member (2006-2009), Yianni has a solid oversight of the football landscape and a passion to support the advancement of football in Victoria.

Elected to the Board in May 2021, Steve Forbes is an executive in a technology consultancy, leading their digital and product innovation practice.

In his 15 year career, Steve has worked with some of Australia's largest organisations, contributing to the development of many well-known products & services. Working with senior leaders on digital strategy, organisational design and culture, Steve helps them manage enterprise technology platforms, portfolios of products and complex stakeholder landscapes.

Steve has a broad knowledge of football, having played since he was 6 years old and growing up in a football family. As a teen, Steve represented Ballarat in the Country Championships as well as Country Victoria at the National Youth Championships. He then played as an adult for Ballarat and Old Melburnians and still plays Futsal weekly. He has also held coaching and committee roles with Clubs.

Steve is passionate about growing the game in Victoria. He is dedicated to improving the support for regional Clubs and Associations, as well as assisting with the adoption of an extensive digital strategy.

Director - Carolyn Jackson

Carolyn Jackson enriches the Board with over 20 years of leadership experience in strategic delivery, financial management and change management within the Victorian Government.

Carolyn’s celebrated career has seen her spearhead complex initiatives and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, Ministers, and senior executives.

Her leadership style is marked by strategic vision, accountability, and a reputation for achieving results in challenging and ambiguous environments.

Carolyn’s most recent role as Deputy Secretary at the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action has seen her lead key initiatives in climate action, environmental reform, and advancing self-determination for Traditional Owners. Her background also includes significant contributions to the energy sector, strategic finance, and regional leadership, alongside serving as Director at several organisations across the past decade.

 

 

Director - Elpis Korosidis

Director - Elpis Korosidis  

Elpis Korosidis brings with her over 30 years of legal experience and a deep commitment to community service. Her extensive background in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and strategic oversight is complemented by leadership roles on the boards of PRONIA, HoMie, and Griefline. As a passionate advocate for inclusion and gender equity, Korosidis champions greater female participation in football and understands the sport’s vital role in uniting Victoria’s diverse communities. Her appointment promises to strengthen governance, enhance accountability, and support Football Victoria’s long-term success. 

Director - Elenna Niteros

Director - Elenna Niteros  

Elenna Niteros has a lifelong connection to the game and a professional background rooted in community impact. With experience as a player, volunteer, and club committee member, Niteros understands the grassroots realities of Victorian football. She currently leads outreach and Aboriginal programs at ACO Eye Health, where she drives meaningful outcomes in under-resourced communities through strategic focus and genuine engagement. Her people-first approach and deep commitment to inclusion and sustainability will help ensure that Football Victoria remains responsive to the needs of the diverse communities it serves.

Director - Darren Yates

Director - Darren Yates

Yates’ election enriches the FV Board with a unique blend of financial expertise and deep grassroots football experience. A Chartered Accountant with over 30 years in business, Yates has also held leadership roles at Murray United FC for nearly a decade, coached at JBNPL level, and officiated both football and futsal. His commitment to regional football, female participation and futsal is informed by personal and professional involvement, including his children's progression through elite pathways. Darren’s understanding of club challenges, financial governance and regulatory frameworks positions him to be a strong advocate for sustainable, inclusive growth across all levels of Victorian football.
