The Emerging Matildas & Emerging Socceroos Championships, formerly known as National Youth Championship, have long been an integral part of the Football Australia’s talent identification program, proving an important stepping-stone for many current CommBank Matildas and Subway Socceroos.
Taking place over 12 days, a total of 54 teams and over 1,000 players and officials from Football Australia's nine State and Territory Member Federations met in Melbourne and Wollongong in July with the eyes of scouts and National Team Selectors watching closely.
Players for Victoria's squads are selected via trials, held annually prior to the tournament. Stay tuned for further announcements on the 2025 tournament shortly.
