2024 Volunteer Week Feature: Nathalie Maira (Frankston Pines SC)

National Volunteer Week (May 20-26) stands as Australia’s premier annual celebration of volunteering, highlighting the invaluable contributions individuals make to various causes.

Football Victoria is proud to join this celebration by spotlighting some of our remarkable volunteers from our community, recognising their diverse talents and unwavering passion for volunteering.

Nathalie Maira

Over the past five years, Nathalie Maira’s commitment to Frankston Pines SC and her tireless effort have taken her journey from spectator to Vice-President.

Frankston Pines SC said Nathalie "embodies what it means to be a community volunteer" with herwillingness to handle any task, big or small, from managing teams and setting up MiniRoos Programs, to running the canteen and cleaning.

Nathalie joined the club by watching her husband play for the Masters Team and supporting her son, who now plays within the senior team. Observing the administrative needs of the committee, she stepped up to offer her assistance. Recognising the language barriers faced by many South American players, Nathalie utilised her Spanish-speaking skills to become the essential liaison among players, coaches, and club members.

Nathalie’s passion and commitment to her club’s success make her an indispensable asset, always ready to step in and help whenever needed. Her efforts ensure the club thrives, fostering a strong and supportive community.
