2025 National Futsal Championships supported by the Victorian State Government

Football Victoria (FV) is thrilled to announce that the 2025 National Futsal Championships will officially be supported by the Victorian State Government’s Significant Sporting Events Program.

This event delivers on a shared commitment to producing economic and social benefits for the state, while solidifying Victoria’s reputation as Australia’s sporting capital.

The National Futsal Championship brings together the nation’s best futsal talent in a celebration of high-performance futsal under the backdrop of Victoria’s rich tapestry of events, culture, and sport.

The tournament will run from Wednesday 8 to Sunday 12 January at the State Netball and Hockey Centre in Parkville. The Championships will host more than 100 state representative teams and over 1,000 athletes, coaches, officials, and fans from across the country. 

With a record number of team entries, the tournament will crown 12 national champions from under 12s through to Open Men and Women and Mixed Open Athletes with a Disability (AWD) division, with each national champion being presented at a unique awards event at the Melbourne Zoo.

Minister for Tourism, Sport, and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos, said he’s excited to welcome Australia’s best futsal players to Melbourne in 2025.

“Victorians love football, in all its forms, and we’re proud to support such a prestigious competition that will bring the country’s best futsal players from all over Australia to the sporting capital.”

Football Victoria Chief Executive Officer Chris Pehlivanis welcomed the support of the Victorian Government and the return of the National Futsal Championships to Victoria:

“Futsal is experiencing rapid growth in Victoria and we are thrilled to be selected again as the host city for the tournament, which will be a highlight of our calendar.

“Australia’s leading futsal players, coaches, administrators and officials will provide a showcase of this fast-paced, highly skilled format of the game.

“While we will be cheering for our Victorian squads, we’re looking forward to welcoming all participants to Melbourne for an action-packed tournament.”
