In December 2024, we asked fans to predict key outcomes for the 2025 NPL Women's Victoria season. The results are in, and it's clear the upcoming season is generating a lot of anticipation.
For the NPLW Golden Boot, Maja Markovski was the top pick, earning 18.8% of the votes. Rebecca Saber followed with 12.5%, while Danielle Micallef and Keely Lockhart each received 9.4%.
In the NPLW Gold Medal race, Markovski led again with 16.7% of the votes. Rebecca Saber, Olivia Bomford, and Paige Zois each received 6.7%, reflecting a competitive field for the league’s top individual award.
For the NPLW Championship, South Melbourne was the fans’ top choice with 28.6% of the votes, followed by Preston Lions at 25%. Bulleen (12.5%) and Heidelberg (10.7%) also had strong backing, while Alamein and Essendon each received 5.4%. Bentleigh Greens rounded out the list with 3.6%.
In the Breakout Player category, Maddy Rakic received the most votes at 6.9%, with several others—including Filomena Delic, Karina Tolios, Nia Salleh earning 3.4% each. The range of selections highlights the depth of emerging talent in the competition.
With the season ahead, fans have set their expectations, but as always, the on-field action will determine how things play out.
