The 2025 edition of the Women’s Football Carnival of Nations (WFCON) reached a thrilling conclusion on Sunday, November 2, at The Home of The Matildas (HoTM), capping off a stellar three weeks of football.
Since its inception in 2019, WFCON has established itself as a key event on Victoria’s football calendar. The tournament continues to celebrate diversity and inclusion, offering players from all backgrounds the opportunity to represent a nation and play with pride.
Tournament founder Georg Robers said the tournament captured what football is all about; playing with friends, having fun, and enjoying the game together.
“This fun tournament is a wonderful opportunity for every player to play football with their friends, introduce those new to football and reconnect with previous players,” he said.
Played across three consecutive Sundays at HoTM, the 2025 tournament welcomed women aged 15 and over, catering to every level of experience from competitive fixtures to social, community-focused matches.
