2026 Country Championships set to light up Geelong

This weekend, the best regional junior footballers will descend upon Geelong for the 2026 Football Victoria (FV) Country Championships.

1,200 players from 67 teams representing the eight regions will go head-to-head at Geelong’s Stead Park and Myers Reserve with silverware on the line across the King’s Birthday long weekend.

This year’s installment will mark the second edition managed by FV and the first since the newly restructured regional football model was announced in December 2025.

FV Regional Development Manager Lauren Stevens cannot wait to see teams from across the regions come together in Geelong for this year’s Championships.

“The Country Championships are an exciting opportunity for players from across regional Victoria to come together, represent their region and create lasting memories both on and off the pitch.”

“This tournament has a rich history and continues to play an important role in bringing regional football communities together while providing players with the chance to experience a high-level representative environment and Talent Identification opportunity.”

“With more than 1,200 players, coaches and officials set to travel to Geelong across the long weekend, we're looking forward to a great celebration of regional football and wish all teams the very best for the Championships.”

Football Victoria would also like to thank the City of Greater Geelong for their support in bringing this year’s Country Championships to life.

The Victorian Country Championships have been running since their first iteration in 1978 and have become one of the biggest football tournaments in the country.

The 2025 Country Championships, which was hosted across Albury and Wodonga, saw eleven new Country Champions crowned. Here is a reminder of our reigning champions coming into the weekend:
