In October, FV announced the integration of Advanced and Community Competition teams into a single, unified structure: FV Competitions. This transition is designed to deliver a smoother, more consistent experience for clubs. After releasing the provisional league structures early, we are excited to continue the momentum with an early release of the 2026 season fixtures.

The new campaign kicks off on March 20 and marks a significant milestone, with the SLM competitions shifting from a five-tier model to a seven-division structure.

“Releasing the 2026 SLM 1 - 7 fixtures more than two months earlier than previous years, along with SLW 1 fixtures being released four months earlier gives our clubs greater certainty and more time to prepare across all areas of their operations,” said FV’s Lead Coordinator for Senior Competitions Lawrence Grande.

“This is an important step in delivering on the objectives of the new FV Competitions structure and ensuring a consistent, high-quality competition experience.

“The move to a seven-division SLM model reflects the continued growth and depth of Senior Men’s football across Victoria, with the seventh division welcoming four new clubs into the pyramid, creating the largest senior state football structure in the country.

“Alongside this, the much earlier release of the SLW1 fixtures supports the continued growth of the women’s pathway, and we’re excited to see clubs embrace the new structure and the opportunities it creates both on and off the pitch.”

Round 1 is packed with storylines as newly promoted clubs look to make an early impression and established contenders begin their push for another successful season. In SLM 1 North-West 1, Altona East Phoenix SC opens the season at home against Western Suburbs SC.

The following day, 2025 SLM 2 North-West Premiers Lalor United FC begin their campaign against Sydenham Park SC. Skye United hosts Mazenod FC, while 2025 SLM South-East Premiers St Kilda SC take on Old Scotch SC.

In SLW 1, Monash will look to make their mark after being relegated from VPLW, while promoted sides Seaford United SC, Aspendale SC, St Albans Saints SC and Uni Hill Eagles FC will be aiming to start strong in the 2026 season.

This fixture release reflects FV’s commitment to advancing and unifying the game in line with our 2024–28 Strategic Framework, strengthening competitions and clarifying the development pathway for Senior Men’s and Women’s football across Victoria.
