The 2026 Women’s Football Carnival of Nations (WFCON) came to a close on Sunday, November 1, at The Home of the Matildas (HoTM), wrapping up three weeks of football celebrating culture, diversity and inclusion.
Since its inception in 2019, WFCON has become a key event on Victoria’s football calendar, bringing women from diverse backgrounds together to represent a nation, connect through football and play with pride.
Football Victoria’s Social Football Lead Coordinator, Simon Mamilovic, said WFCON was a great celebration of football and community.
“It was great to see so many women come together, enjoy their football and support one another throughout the carnival,” Mamilovic said.
“Seeing everyone get involved and enjoy the experience made it a really special event.”
Played across three consecutive Sundays at HoTM, the 2026 tournament welcomed women aged 15 and over, with opportunities for players of all experience levels to take part in competitive fixtures or social, community-focused matches.
