Football Victoria (FV) has an ambitious target of achieving 50/50 equity across our game by 2027. To meet this target, a significant increase in women holding on and off-field roles in football needs to occur.
Across Victorian football, we are pleased to see consistent growth in the number of talented women being appointed across all parts of the game, including administration, governance, committees and technical departments.
Whilst the vast majority of the football community is supportive of this important progress, incidents of misogyny occurring in our community are not acceptable or tolerated, not now… not ever.
FV reminds all stakeholders that significant sanctions apply through the GDT for incidents of this nature and urges everyone in our community to ensure that a safe, respectful environment is upheld for all that dedicate themselves to our beautiful game.
