Football Victoria (FV) has welcomed this week’s Tribunal findings after a thorough investigation of behaviour during a club function at the Geelong Soccer Club in August.
The Tribunal found three individuals guilty of bringing the game into disrepute following a number of violent assaults at the function. The three individuals were banned for 10 years, 7 years and 1 year respectively.
FV believes this sends a strong message that violence by club associates will not be tolerated. We remain committed to ensuring that football matches uphold community standards and provide a safe and family-friendly environment at all times.
“The Tribunal’s decisions again underline FV’s call to Respect The Game. We all need to keep working together to keep our game strong and protect participants, match officials, club administrators, volunteers and spectators at each venue each week,” FV CEO Peter Filopoulos said.
