The effects of sports betting promotion are becoming clear – the first generation of kids to grow up with all the gambling ads (young men aged 18 to 24) are now the largest group of sports bettors in Victoria, placing almost a third of all bets.
Football Victoria encourages all clubs to sign up to the Love the Game Not the Odds program and help junior players understand the risks associated with gambling.

By joining, your club will:
- refuse to take revenue from sports betting providers
- gain a competitive edge for seeking grant funding
- receive free education resources for the club, including a policy template
- signal that its culture is one that prioritises the wellbeing of our next generation
- join over 650 clubs across Victoria taking a stand against sports betting sponsorship
Rewards and prizes in May: 3 x $1000 sports vouchers and 50 coach rewards
Love the Game sporting clubs will be invited to host a theme round in May. The first 250 clubs to register receive a free pack for your coach/es containing Love the Game branded:

- Training cones
- Lanyard
- Cap
- Conversation tip card
Clubs and coaches who post a photo during the round could be rewarded with one of three $1,000 sports vouchers. There will also be 50 coaches rewards available (whiteboards, signed merchandise, equipment and more!).
