219 Clubs from across Victoria entered the competition and only two remain with Oakleigh Cannons and South Melbourne to face off at 3pm on Saturday, August 3 at The Home of the Matildas.
Named after football pioneer and Football Victoria Hall of Fame member Harry Dockerty, the tournament was first played in 1909 and this year's edition marks the 100th time the Cup will be contested.
Oakleigh Cannons are looking to defend their title after a convincing 3-0 victory over Heidelberg in 2023 at Kingston Heath Soccer Complex. The Cannons booked their ticket to the final with a narrow 1-0 victory over Melbourne SRBIJA, with Max Bisetto’s goal proving decisive.
South Melbourne is the form team in the NPLM, sitting six points clear on top of the table with three matches remaining. They secured their place in the final with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Hume City on a cold night at Lakeside Stadium, thanks to Andy Brennan’s crucial goal.
The last time these two sides faced off in the Dockerty Cup Final was in 2015, where South Melbourne emerged victorious with a 3-0 win at Lakeside Stadium.
History beckons for South Melbourne once again, as a victory on August 3 would crown them champions for a record-equalling ninth time, drawing level with Melbourne Knights.
