To celebrate Female Football February, we will be highlighting stories from our community that showcase the pathways and participation opportunities that exist for women and girls within football.
Today, we highlight some of the fantastic events and initiatives happening around Victoria which are encouraging women & girls to get involved in football!
Monday, 28 February | Futsal Ballarat
Futsal Ballarat is celebrating Female Football February with a brilliant Football Festival designed to celebrate its female Futsal members and encourage more young girls to get involved in Futsal! There will be training, mini-matches an exhibition match as well as food, drinks and prizes.
Sunday, 20 February | West Gippsland Female Football Festival
Clubs in the Baw Baw Shire have joined forces to deliver a free local festival to support, educate and showcase women & girls football in the West Gippsland region. It's the perfect way to gain an introduction to the beautiful game and will include fun activities and a great environment designed to get more young women & girls involved in football.
Sunday, 20 February | Glen Eira FC Miniroos Coaching Course
This Sunday, Glen Eira FC is hosting a Miniroos Coaching Course. The action packed event will feature a coaching seminar from Liesl Woods, lunch and refreshments and a Mini Roos coaching course to cap the day off between 2PM-5PM.
Saturday, 26 February | Keilor Park SC's Football Fiesta
Following the success of last year, Keilor Park SC's Football Fiesta returns for a fun filled day of on-field activities, nutrition education, food and drink, exhibition matches and loads more!
Thursday 17 & 24 February | Mt Eliza SC's Back to School, Back to Soccer program
Since the start of February, Mt Eliza SC has hosted and will continue to host weekly skills programs to take your game to the next level or introduce young women & girls in the community to football.
Sunday, 20 February| Bayside United FC vs Southern United FC NPLW Exhibition Match
Kicking off at 1PM at Baxter Park, these two sides are putting on an exhibition to showcase and celebrate women's football. It's a great opportunity ahead of the season to see two elite women's team in action and introduce young women & girls to our game.
Thursday 17 & 24 February | Monbulk Rangers SC's Come and Try Sessions
Ever thought about playing? Are you wanting to get involved with a team sport? Wanting to play but don’t know anybody? Women & Girls this is the perfect opportunity to come down and try football. Monbulk Rangers are hosting two Come and Try sessions at the Monbulk Regional Soccer Facility.
Wednesdays & Fridays throughout February | FC Bulleen Lions Open Training Sessions
During Female Football February, FC Bulleen Lions would like to invite all junior girls (U12s-U18s) to attend open training sessions. It's a great way to have a kick, bring a friend and give football a go with one of Victoria's elite football programs.
Tuesdays & Thursdays throughout February | Boroondara Eagles FC Bring a Friend Training Sessions
The Eagles are encouraging members of the U8s-U12s (Tuesdays) and U13s-U19s (Thursdays) to bring a friend to training and give football a go! All are welcome to attend in the area so it's the perfect opportunity to start your football journey.
