Football Victoria is proud to announce the final 17-player squads for both the Men’s and Women’s teams, set to face Football Queensland in the highly anticipated 2024 Battle of the States at the Imperial Corp Stadium on Saturday, September 21.
After a fortnight of training at The Home of the Matildas, the coaching staff has finalised the list of players who will represent Victoria in the prestigious event, as they aim to retain the Rigby-Willis Cup (Men) and the Jones-Millman Cup (Women).
The Men’s and Women’s teams, coached by Nicholas Marinos and Vince Battiato respectively, will represent Football Victoria in this historic rivalry against Football Queensland, with both teams determined to defend their 2023 victories.
The men’s team triumphed in a nail-biting penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw, while the women’s team clinched a 2-1 win.
