Football Victoria (FV) is delighted to announce that, following an exhaustive selection process, six clubs have been awarded a Junior Girls National Premier Leagues (JGNPL) licence for the 2025 season.
The successful clubs are:
- Eltham Redbacks FC
- Essendon Royals SC
- Glen Eira FC
- Keilor Park SC
- Preston Lions FC
- Springs Hills FC
These clubs have been selected for their outstanding commitment to developing young female talent and their ability to provide a clear pathway for players to progress within the sport.
FV's Advanced Competitions Manager, Frank Karatzas, shared his thoughts on the clubs chosen for the JGNPL.
"All clubs who applied to attain a JGNPL licence showed just how aspirational they are in providing a pathway for young female players," he said.
In collaboration with relevant FV departments, we narrowed it down to six strong suitors who strongly fit the criteria presented. This is a big step forward for the girls' space, which has seen a significant participation increase over the past 18 months."
FV congratulates these six clubs and looks forward to an exciting 2025 JGNPL season, where the focus will be on skill development, competitive play, and the continued evolution of women’s football in the state.
