PSV offers a range of adaptive sports, with Powerchair Football being one of their most popular programs. Powerchair Football is an inclusive, fast-paced team sport adapted from traditional football, played by athletes using electric wheelchairs. The sport focuses on skill, strategy, and teamwork, making it accessible and competitive for players of all abilities.
FV All Abilities & Inclusion Programs Coordinator Selin Arpaci said she was "thrilled" to partner with PSV to make football more inclusive.
"This partnership opens new opportunities for athletes of all abilities to get involved, compete, and enjoy the game," she said.
The Victorian Powerchair Football League features several passionate teams, including Melbourne City, South Melbourne, and Westvale Olympic, competing in a structured season that encourages community, participation, and sporting excellence.
This partnership between FV and PSV will strengthen pathways for people with disabilities to engage in football, ensuring more inclusive opportunities across the state. FV looks forward to working closely with PSV to grow the sport and support athletes with a disability or impairment.
