Football Victoria partners with VicHealth to Set the Standard

Football Victoria (FV) is encouraging clubs across the state to help create safer and more inclusive sporting environments through the Set The Standard initiative.

As part of the initiative, clubs that sign up to the Set The Standard newsletter between May 18 and June 14 will automatically go into the draw to win one of three $1,000 vouchers for their club.

The vouchers can help clubs invest in new equipment, facility improvements, events or other community initiatives that support their football environment.

Set The Standard is focused on helping sporting clubs build culturally safer and more welcoming communities for everyone involved in the game.

Australia is one of the world’s most multicultural societies, and community sport continues to play a major role in bringing people together through shared experiences, teamwork and connection. However, racism and exclusion continue to impact sporting environments across the country.

According to the Enhancing the Capacity of Victorian Community Sport to Tackle Racism, 2025 report, 56 per cent of surveyed participants had experienced or witnessed racism in community sport.

Set The Standard aims to support clubs, coaches, volunteers and leaders with practical tools and guidance to help foster stronger and more inclusive environments across grassroots sport.

Rather than striving for perfection, Set The Standard encourages clubs to focus on progress and meaningful cultural change across all areas of community sport.

By subscribing to the newsletter, clubs and individuals will receive practical resources, ideas and guidance to help continue building positive football communities across Victoria.
