Football Victoria’s (FV) Community In Business Full-Time Luncheon is fast approaching. We look forward to connecting, networking and celebrating with our football family
The event is taking place next Friday, October 7 at Hyatt Place, Essendon Fields. It is the final event on this year's CIB calendar and with the men's and women's World Cups approaching, an exciting time to unite once again to celebrate our game at a state and national level.
CIB is the ultimate community business network that brings together key stakeholders within football in Victoria including businesses, football clubs, media, and government.
The much-anticipated end-of-year event will include a host of high-calibre guests, including:
- Graham Arnold
- Sarah Walsh
- Naomi Chinnama
- Azmeena Hussain
Just over one month before the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, Socceroos head coach Graham Arnold will be in attendance for the end-of-season event.
It is his second stint in charge, after taking over in 2006 after the FIFA World Cup in Germany, where he served as an assistant coach with Guus Hiddink. He is a Premiership and Championship-winning Head Coach with Sydney FC and the Central Coast Mariners in the A-League.
Arnold also represented Australia 56 times as a striker during an international career spanning 12 years, scoring 19 goals.
The Sydney-raised striker rose to prominence at Sydney Croatia where he played 179 games and scored 67 goals.
In the later stages of his career, he also moved overseas to play in Belgium, Japan, and Holland where he became thrived with Roda JC (Holland) as their leading striker.
CommBank Young Matildas defender Naomi Chinnama is on the panel to discuss her action-packed footballing journey from Point Cook to the Blacktown Spartans and Liberty A-League.
Chinnama spent five years in Football Victoria’s National Training Centre program before recently being called up to the U20 Women’s National Team.
At only 18 years of age, Chinnama has represented Australia on the biggest stage at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022 where she played every minute of all three matches against Costa Rica (in front of 22,000 fans), Brazil, and eventual winners, Spain.
The young defender plies her trade for Melbourne City in the Liberty A-League Women’s where she has played 12 matches.
In an exciting coup for CIB, Head of Women's Football, Women's World Cup Legacy and Inclusion at Football Australia Sarah Walsh joins the panel to discuss the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™.
Walsh represented the Matildas 67 times between 2004-12, scoring 31 goals including the 2004 Olympic Games, the 2006 AFC Women’s Asian Cup, and the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2007.
Following her playing days, Walsh transitioned into leadership roles in football, accumulating extensive experience in driving gender equity in governance. She left a profound impact in helping grow the sport domestically, both at home and abroad.
Rounding out the panel is Azmeena Hussain who was elected to the FV Board in March 2019 and is a Football Australia Legacy Ambassador.
Hussain is a Principal Lawyer at Maurice Blackburn Lawyers and is listed in the prestigious Doyle’s Guide as a preeminent Australian personal injuries lawyer. She is a Law Institute of Victoria Accredited Specialist and Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
