Football Victoria reaffirms commitment to excellence through new Senior Leadership appointments

Football Victoria (FV) is thrilled to announce two new Senior Leadership appointments, to drive performance and growth across our game.

Paul Trimboli will join FV as Executive Manager, High Performance and Pathways; a new role responsible for ensuring our programs are best in class and fit for purpose, supporting footballers with the best possible training, coaching and high-performance environments.

Trimboli’s name is well known in football circles, with 48 caps as a Socceroo and a 458-game legend of the NSL. His success on the field has been followed by a stellar contribution to the game as Sports Administrator at both Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory.

Trimboli transformed the football operations within these organisations, with oversight of strategic direction and policy implementation across elite teams. Trimboli will commence next month and is enthusiastic to apply his broad experience to Victorian high-performance football.

“This role appealed through the commitment to improving opportunities and pathways for individuals to succeed at the elite level, giving them the tools and support required to reach their goals.

“It is an exciting opportunity to help shape the game, and I am looking forward to engaging with stakeholders and setting a path forward.”

Commencing in June, FV is pleased to welcome another experienced football administrator to our organisation, with Chris Speldewinde joining as Executive Manager, Commercial.

Speldewinde most recently held the role of General Manager Commercial at Western United FC, building a solid commercial foundation for Victoria’s youngest A-League club. Multi-year, aligned partnerships across the Club and new training facility are part of his legacy, with his skillset well-placed to achieve success across FV’s suite of assets.

With commercial and partnership experience within both football and the AFL, Speldewinde is enthusiastic to play a crucial role in overseeing our commercial operations and driving growth across the organisation.

“It is a privilege to be joining FV and working with the team to drive the commercial sustainability of our game.

“This is an exciting window of opportunity for football, with strong momentum that should be maximised to grow our game in every way.”

Football Victoria CEO, Chris Pehlivanis is looking forward to the immediate impact Trimboli and Speldewinde can have on Victorian football.

“Both Paul and Chris are proven performers in their fields, with a solid understanding of the opportunities and priorities within our game.

“We are building strong foundations at FV to deliver on our ambitions, with these appointments an important step in that process.

“I am thrilled to welcome both Paul and Chris to FV, to further contribute to Victorian football.”
