Football Victoria (FV) is delighted to release ‘Our Football’ - Strategic Framework 2024-2028, with a committed vision to provide for equitable football for all - anywhere, anytime, any way.
As the state’s participation base continues to break year-on-year records, FV has listened to and consolidated the views of many of the game’s important stakeholders, culminating in the development of a Strategic Framework that seeks to be representative of FV’s purpose of inspiring, uniting and enabling all Victorians to live and love football for life.
The Framework outlines five core pillars, being:
- Clubs and Competitions: Our Clubs & Competitions lead and unite the way in governance, capability and financial sustainability.
- Participants: Our Participants can engage with the game in a safe, inclusive and equitable environment.
- Pathways: Our Pathways attract, identify, support & nurture talent.
- Facilities: Our Facilities are safe, inclusive and meet the needs of all participants.
- Future: Our Future is underpinned by innovation & a strong commercial model.
Unity is a key theme that runs its way through the Framework, with FV determined to harness the power of all local stakeholders – players, coaches, referees, volunteers, administrators and fans - to push towards the common aspiration of helping football realise its unfettered potential.
FV President Antonella Care said ‘Our Football’, developed in partnership with Gemba, was an important milestone for the organisation.
“Football in Victoria has never been in better shape,” Care said.
“Momentum is strong, with women and girls taking up the sport in record numbers, while boys and men’s participation rates also continue to climb.
“As custodians of the sport in this State, it is our job at Football Victoria to set an ambitious path forward for our game, so that we continue to best serve the interests of our clubs, our participants and all who connect with football.
“I am confident this Strategic Framework provides a solid platform to build upon for an exciting four years ahead.”
Football Victoria CEO Chris Pehlivanis said a proactive plan for the remainder of 2024 would now be enacted in line with the framework, ensuring some of the document’s key initiatives start to take shape right away.
“The release of this Strategic Framework, while a significant moment in its own right, is just the start of a journey,” Pehlivanis said.
“And it is a journey that we are all going to go on together, in service of this great game of football that we all love.
“We at Football Victoria are committed to living and breathing this Strategic Framework over the coming months and years.
“I am invigorated by the responsibility of helping to execute this Framework, which will see each and every member of the Victorian football community contribute to its success in their own meaningful way.”
