FV congratulates Scott Rogan, Adam Cooper, Corey Sewell, Cosimo Russo and Pok Man Yu on their selection a 14-player squad set to represent Australia at the AFC Futsal Asian Cup™ Indonesia 2026 Qualifiers in Ardiya, Kuwait, from 20–24 September 2025.
Australia has been drawn into Group A alongside Kuwait, Mongolia, and India. The Futsalroos will commence their campaign against Mongolia on 20 September, followed by India on 22 September, and conclude with a match against host nation Kuwait on 24 September.
Head Coach Miles Downie expressed his excitement on the upcoming fixtures.
“We’re always excited to represent Australia on the international stage and test ourselves against the best in Asia, and we’re determined to bring our best in Kuwait to secure qualification for the AFC Futsal Asian Cup," he said.
“This squad builds on the momentum from the Continental Futsal Championship in Thailand while bringing back some key experienced players into the fold. Our focus will be on coming together as a team and continuing to develop and demonstrate the identity of the Futsalroos.
“The group is ambitious, and we push ourselves at every opportunity. The team has developed significantly over the last couple of years, and we are looking to take another large step forward and continue to inspire a new generation of Futsal national team players.”
All matches will be held at Qushaian Al-Mutairi Hall in Kuwait with the top-placed team from each group, along with the seven best-ranked runners-up, securing a spot in the 18th edition of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup™, scheduled to commence in January 2026 in Indonesia.
Australia is aiming to qualify for the tournament for the eighth time, having made a long-awaited return to the continental stage in 2024 after an eight-year absence.
This squad largely mirrors the team that competed at the 2025 Continental Futsal Championship in Thailand, where Australia finished third in Group B with victories over Zambia and New Zealand.
