Futsal shines on the big stage as FV Futsal State Championships return in 2022

Futsal fanatics from across the state gathered at the La Trobe Sports Stadium in Bundoora last week, as the Football Victoria State Futsal Championships made its long awaited return.

Proudly sponsored by Ultra Football, more than 82 teams participated in 13 categories including men and women from Under-8 all the way through to the open age groups.

The event was an incredible success, with data from La Trobe University showing more than 17,500 people were welcomed through the doors over three days to support the on-court action.

The 2022 Football Victoria State Futsal Championships were open to all Futsal clubs and Futsal centres in both metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. Interstate clubs were also invited to participate. 

A majority of games throughout the tournament were also live streamed, providing friends, family and interested onlookers a chance to catch the action remotely. 

Talent identification was another added benefit of having our state's most skilled Futsal players gathering in one location to play competitively. Scouts were on the lookout for players, coaches and referees who may be presented the opportunity to represent Victoria at the 2023 Football Australia National Futsal Championships, which will be held during January next year in Melbourne.
