Football Victoria (FV) has shared in Victorian Government funding to deliver four projects as part of the Together More Active program.
Together More Active grants aim to boost the capacity and sustainability of sport and recreation organisations to increase equity, diversity and inclusiveness.
The four projects FV will deliver are:
- The ‘Go Deadly Football Program’ - to increase participation opportunities for the Aboriginal community. It will include by a Miniroos kick-off program, Go Deadly 7s competition and support clubs to deliver regional and rural competitions.
- The ‘Club Coach Coordinator’ project - to provide support to inexperienced coaches at grassroots clubs and address the high turnover rate that football experiences, particularly in female players.
- The ‘AAA’ project - to build the capacity of clubs to provide programs for people with disability and build awareness of the importance of sport participation across the community.
- The ‘Go Proud’ project - to increase participation opportunities for LGBTI community members through delivering club-level initiatives. This will increase awareness and reduce barriers for LGBTI sport participation.
