FIFA Ranking: 72
Head Coach: Reynald Pedros
Morocco Women’s National Football Team Schedule:
- July 24 – Morocco v Germany
- July 30 – Morocco v Korea Republic
- August 3 – Morocco v Colombia
In the 32-team tournament, only the two-top teams will advance to the knockout stage. Germany (2nd) is the highest-ranked nation in Group H, while Korea Republic is ranked 17th in the world and Colombia is 25th on the FIFA rankings.
If Morocco can advance to the Round of 16, they will either face the first or second-place finisher in Group F, which could be either be France, Jamaica, Panama, or Brazil.
This is Morocco’s first appearance in the Women’s World Cup, which is a monumental achievement for the nation.
In 2022, they hosted the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which did wonders in promoting the women’s game in the country.
Players to look out for:
-
Ghizlane Chebbak
The attacking midfielder is her sides’ most capped player and has scored 21 times since making her debut in 2008. She is the captain of the side and was instrumental in Morocco making the final of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

- Fatima Tagnaout
The 24-year-old has the ability to get through tight spaces and can play on either flank. The midfielder possesses superb passing and dribbling with both feet and has an accurate left-footed shot.
