- Yarraville Glory FC
- Thursdays: 10/10/24 - 14/11/24, 6pm-7:30pm
The program is a result of a successful collaboration between Football Victoria, the City of Maribyrnong, and local football clubs. Together, they secured funding through the Australian Sports Commission’s Play Well Participation Grant, making the City of Maribyrnong the first to deliver this program both statewide and nationwide.
City of Maribyrnong Mayor, Cr Cuc Lam, expressed enthusiasm for the program: "Introducing GO Family to our community will provide families with a unique opportunity to bond over a shared love of football, recreation, and fun.
"Council is committed to reaching as many individuals as possible and creating a sense of belonging within our community. With football growing in popularity, GO Family is an opportunity to engage the whole family—watching and playing together. This program hopes to inspire families to come together, stay active, and build lasting memories.”
GO Family is open to all skill levels, whether you’re new to football or have some experience. The sessions will be led by Football Victoria coaches in partnership with three local FA Club Changer Clubs: Maribyrnong Swifts, Yarraville Glory Football Club, and Footscray United Rangers.
This program is about more than just football; it’s about having fun, staying active, and spending quality time together as a family. It also offers a pathway to connect with local clubs for future involvement, creating lasting memories and stronger community ties.
