Ajdin Hrustic enters his second World Cup as one of Australia's most experienced international players, having earned 37 caps and scored four goals since making his debut against Brazil in 2017.
The creative midfielder is yet to feature in Australia's opening two matches of the tournament, the 29-year-old remains a player capable of changing a game, with his technical quality and creativity providing another weapon for the Socceroos as they look to progress deep into the competition.
Before establishing himself in European football, Hrustic's journey began in Victoria with Heatherton United, where he first developed the skills that would eventually take him to the world stage.
For Heatherton United President Senad Ahmetovic, seeing one of the club's former juniors represent Australia at a second World Cup is a source of immense pride.

His rise has seen him spend time in the youth systems of Nottingham Forest, Austria Wien and Schalke before making his professional debut with Dutch side FC Groningen in 2017.
Hrustic went on to make his name in the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt, where he etched his name into Australian football history by becoming the first Australian player to win the UEFA Europa League in 2022 and the first Australian man since Harry Kewell to lift a major UEFA competition.
Now playing for Dutch club Heracles Almelo, Hrustic has the opportunity to add another chapter to his football story on the biggest stage of all.
