HUFC v PLFC Appeal Board Outcomes

Football Victoria (FV) can provide an update following the Appeal Board hearings for Heidelberg United FC (HUFC) and Preston Lions FC (PLFC), held on Wednesday, 19 November.

The appeals were lodged in response to sanctions handed down on October 30, related to a number of incidents at the September Preliminary Final between the clubs.

After reviewing the cases presented, the independent Appeals Board has determined the following amendments to the original sanctions:

  • HUFC’s three-point deduction has been removed. The club fine of $3,300 for offences relating to the use of smoke bombs remains in place, along with a further $1,320 fine (12 penalty units) for a breach of MP10.
  • PLFC’s nine-point deduction has been amended to six points, with a further three points suspended for the duration of the 2026 NPLM season.

FV reminds everyone in our community of the potential impact individual actions can have on clubs and the importance of upholding the standards of the game.
