On August 3rd, Football Victoria (FV) proudly hosted its first-ever Community Coaching Conference (CCC), an event that drew over 50 dedicated coaches from across the state.
Held at The Home of the Matildas, the conference provided a valuable platform for professional development, networking, and hands-on learning.
The conference kicked off with an introduction by Les Bee, co-founder of the CCC program in Victoria and Australia, who shared the vision and origins of the CCC. Following Les, Daniela Kraus, CEO of XVenture, delivered an engaging presentation on the powerful yet unknown acronyms of sport, shedding light on the critical elements that underpin effective coaching.
The day continued with Santi Escudero, FV Emerging Head Coach, who provided an insightful session on coaching behaviors. His expertise, gained from over 15 years with prestigious clubs like Real Madrid and Melbourne Victory F.C., offered valuable strategies for enhancing coaching practices.
Participants then moved onto the pitch for practical sessions, where they engaged in hands-on activities led by Les, Santi, and FV’s coaching team. The sessions covered:
- Player Engagement and Ball Mastery
- Passing and Receiving
- Small-Sided Games and Changing Behaviors
These practical demonstrations allowed coaches to apply new techniques and approaches directly, enriching their coaching toolkit.
The inaugural FV Community Coaching Conference set a high standard for future events and we look forward to continuing its support for coaches and clubs, fostering growth and development within the community.
