Clubs involved in the Club Coaching Coordinator (CCC) and Skill Acquisition Phase (SAP) programs gathered at Darebin on Saturday to take part in a competitive Gala Day.
Players from Under-9s through to the Under-12 age groups, with games ranging from 7-a-side to 9-a-side. The day was exclusively reserved for Clubs registered to the CCC or SAP Programs and was an enormous success, with more than 150 young boys and girls taking part.
The CCC Program has an enormous success since launching a year ago, with more than 70 active Clubs participating. In the program, junior coaches are supported by members of FV's Elite Talent Pathways who act as a 'Club Coach Coordinator'. The coordinators assist community coaches to improve their training sessions, better connect with their players and build programs that optimise youth development and enjoyment.
Clubs can support their coaches through a variety of packages ranging from a Basic package which primarily involves online support, through the Bronze & Silver packages which offer regular online catch-ups.

The SAP program similarly focuses on player development, assisting Clubs to instill core football skills within their playing groups. The program is a key block of Football Australia's national football curriculum and assists Clubs to plan, design and execute elite training plans for their players.
