Day 4 of the 2025 National Futsal Championships in Melbourne has drawn to an exhilarating close, with the quarter-finals and semi-finals delivering incredible drama and excitement.
After a full day of intense action across the pitches at the State Netball and Hockey Centre, all grand final matchups are now locked in, setting the stage for a thrilling conclusion tomorrow on Day 5.
Tomorrow’s action will not only crown 12 national champions across age groups from U12 to Open Men, Women, and Mixed AWD but will also culminate in a special celebration. The 2025 National Futsal Championships Presentation Evening will be held at Melbourne Zoo’s iconic Leopard Lodge, just a short walk from the tournament venue.
Let's get stuck into some of the Victorian performances from across the day.
In the U12 Boys' quarter-final, Football Victoria faced a strong NSW Lightning team and lost 9-2. The U13 Boys White also bowed out in the quarter-finals with a loss to NSW Thunder. The U13 Boys Navy had mixed results, defeating Football West 4-2 with Levi Manasiev scoring three goals, but later falling 9-4 to Football Queensland in the semi-finals. The U13 Girls Navy fought hard but were edged out 2-1 by Football West, with Marina Trevisiol scoring their only goal.
The U14 Boys had a commanding 7-1 win over Capital Football in the quarter-finals, with Joaquim Franco Sageman contributing two goals. The U15 Boys had a close match but couldn’t overcome NSW Country, losing 4-2. In the U15 Girls competition, the Navy team exited in the quarter-finals after a 4-1 loss to NSW Thunder, while the White team fell 6-1 to Football NSW.
The Youth Men put up a spirited fight but lost 9-6 to Football Queensland White, with Armaan Dawood and Benjamin Chiew each scoring twice. In the Open Men’s division, the Tigers advanced to the grand final after defeating Queensland 4-2 in the quarter-finals and the FV Blues 2-0 in the semi-finals. The Navy team was eliminated after an 11-3 quarter-final loss to Football West, while the Blues managed a 6-2 win over Capital Football before falling to the Tigers.
For the Open Women Navy, a 3-1 win over Queensland in the quarter-finals was followed by a narrow 4-3 loss to NSW Thunder in the semis.
The AWD team had a standout 14-9 win against NSW Lightning in Round 5, with Joshua Burgess scoring five goals, but their run ended in the semi-finals with a close 2-1 loss to NSW Thunder.
