Nike F.C. Cup and Nike F.C. Community Cup Finals at The Home of the Matildas

The Nike F.C. Cup is up for grabs on Sunday, August 13 as FC Bulleen Lions and Calder United SC face-off at The Home of the Matildas. The Nike F.C. Cup Community Final between Casey Comets FC and Essendon Royals SC will also take place, setting up a monster day of football.

Football Victoria (FV) is thrilled to announce the final will take place at The Home Of The Matildas. It will be the first time the venue will be used for competitive matches.

In addition to the football action, the day will feature activations, entertainment, food trucks and far more.

The Nike F.C. Cup first started as the Women’s State Knockout Cup in 2012, as a means for female teams from across the state to compete in a knockout format. Since 2012, the Cup has gone from strength to strength and thanks to the support of Nike - who continue to invest, support and elevate women's football - the 2023 edition will be the biggest yet.

Calder United have proven to be a dominant force in the Cup in recent years. The Club is looking to win an unprecedented sixth Nike F.C. Cup.

The defending Champions booked their ticket to the final with internationals Kiewa Hieda and Alexis Mitchell scoring second-half goals to hand their side a 2-0 victory over South Melbourne in the Semi-Finals.

Opponents FC Bulleen will be out for revenge, after going down to Calder in the 2022 NPLW Grand Final and Nike F.C. Cup Semi-Final. The Lions have a history of success in Victoria's football landscape and booked their spot in the final thanks to a strong 5-0 victory over VPLW side Casey Comets.
