From 98 Clubs across Victoria, only two remain: Preston Lions and Bulleen Lions are set to clash at 3pm on Sunday, August 4, at The Home of the Matildas in the highly anticipated 2024 Nike FC Cup Final.
This marks the 12th edition of the Victorian State Knockout Cup, with Nike showing unwavering support for women’s football as the naming rights partner since 2019.
Bulleen Lions, aiming for their second Nike FC Cup title, previously triumphed in 2014 with a 2-0 victory over South Melbourne. They secured their spot in this year's final with a dominant 3-0 win over FV Emerging at the Veneto Club on July 17.
Preston Lions, on the other hand, are in search of their first Victorian Women's Knockout Cup title. Their journey to the final was marked by a solid 3-1 victory over VPLW outfit Bundoora United at The Home of the Matildas on July 10. Under the guidance of Dan Foden, Preston is having a successful season, currently only trailing Bulleen on the NPLW ladder, presenting their best chance yet to claim the coveted cup.
The last encounter between these two teams saw Bulleen Lions emerge victorious with a 2-0 win over Preston at B.T. Connor Reserve on May 17.
