Nike F.C. Cup winning coach joins Bayside United FC as Head Coach

Bayside United FC has announced Nathan Maiorana as Head Coach for the upcoming NPLW season.

This season, Maiorana led Calder United to a Nike F.C. Cup victory and the Semi-Finals of the NPLW.

In a statement on the Club's social accounts, Bayside United FC "warmly welcomed" Maiorana for season 2024.

"Nathan joins us after a successful season as Calder United’s Senior Head Coach in 2023, taking his team to the semi-finals in the WNPL competition and the Nike Cup final. We know he will lead our girls to a rewarding season in 2024.

"We are very pleased to have Nathan join our team at Bayside United and wish him and our senior team a successful 2024 season."

Maiorana started his coaching journey in 2010 as an Academy Coach at Football Technique School, before moving to the position of U8/9 and U11 Head Coach in his eight years at the company.

In 2012, Maiorana joined North Caulfield Maccabi FC as a Club coach for five years, followed by Caulfield Colts Academy Head Coach between 2016-19.

Maiorana then took his services to Wesley College as their Boys' First Team Head Coach from 2019-20, before joining Melbourne City as a part-time Academy Coach.

While partaking in his role at Melbourne City, he started his work at Calder United as their U17's NPLW Head Coach.

In November 2021, Maiorana was elevated to Senior NPLW Assistant Coach, and then found himself as Head Coach this season, - alongside Helen Winterburn.

The announcement comes following NPLW Coach of the Year Loui Spiridis stepping down as Head Coach of the Club in September.
