The Nike F.C. Cup Semi-Final matches have been locked in with the final four sides in the competition one game away from the big dance!
The Semi-Final draw saw the remaining four clubs drawn into four matches with the first team drawn as the nominated home team, followed by the second drawn team as the nominated away team.
Calder United will face South Melbourne at Keilor Park Recreation Reserve in the first Sem-Final on Wednesday, July 12 at 8:00 pm.
South Melbourne defeated Preston Lions 2-1 in a close encounter last week, with Tijan McKenna scoring the winning goal in the 84th minute.
Calder United defeated Heidelberg United 5-2 in their Quarter-Final match-up, with the women's powerhouse having five different goal-scorers.
The final VPLW side remaining, Casey Comets FC come up against NPLW powerhouse FC Bulleen Lions with their home crowd in their corner on Thursday, July 13 at 7:30 pm.
Casey defeated fellow VPLW side Essendon Royals in the Quarter-Finals 2-1 with the Comets coming back from a 1-0 deficit to make it through to the next round.
In a massive moment in the match, Casey goalkeeper Brooke Bennett saved a penalty in the 64th minute to ensure the score stayed at 1-0. Casey forward Candela Ferreyra Bas also became a hero, scoring the winning goal in the 88th minute setting up the clash against the top-placed Bulleen side.
FC Bulleen Lions defeated Box Hill United earlier in the week with Alana Jancevski and Tiffany Eliadis finding the back of the net in the 2-0 victory.
