As the 2026 season continues to build momentum, it’s fantastic to see the excitement and energy across grounds as more leagues kick off around the state - with more action still to come in the coming weeks.
Football is a passionate game and that passion is part of what makes our sport so special. However, passion is no excuse for abuse. Football Victoria (FV) reminds all players, coaches, officials, volunteers, spectators and parents of the responsibility we each have, to uphold the highest standards of behaviour.
FV maintains zero-tolerance approach to antisocial behaviour. Abuse, intimidation, discrimination or any conduct that undermines the safety and enjoyment of our game will not be accepted at any level.
FV’s Three Strike Policy is now in place and will be applied consistently across the state. Repeated or serious breaches of behaviour standards will result in escalating consequences, including suspensions and further sanctions where necessary.
We are committed to creating safe, inclusive and respectful environments for everyone involved in football. Clubs and leagues are encouraged to reinforce these expectations within their communities and to address issues early, before they escalate.
A range of resources are available on the FV website to support positive behaviour, including:
- Codes of Conduct for players, coaches, officials and spectators
- Information on the Three Strike Policy
- No Excuse for Abuse campaign assets
We thank our football community for playing their part.
