Optus Sport to stream 2023 Nike FC Cup Final

Optus Sport has reaffirmed its support of Victoria’s premier women’s knockout tournament, committing to again broadcast the Nike FC Cup Final in 2023.

The Final will be held at 5pm on Sunday, August 13 at The Home of The Matildas at La Trobe University. In a landmark occasion for our game, it will be the first-time competitive football has been played at the venue.

Five-time champions Calder United SC will face FC Bulleen Lions in the Final, with pre-match coverage to commence from 4.30pm.

The Nike FC Cup Community Final between Casey Comets FC and Essendon Royals SC, kick-off 2pm, will be available on the usual Football Victoria channels including Facebook, YouTube and NPL.TV.

The FREE event is the ultimate opportunity for the local community to experience Victoria’s new football precinct in person, following its support of the CommBank Matildas and the Jamaica ‘Reggae Girlz’ in recent weeks – while a broader audience can engage with the tournament through Optus’ broadcast.

Football Victoria Executive Manager Marketing, Engagement & Legacy, Mandy McCarter, applauded Optus’ ongoing commitment to Victorian football.

“Optus have demonstrated outstanding support of female football and we’re thrilled to again partner on the 2023 Final, which promises to be our biggest and best ever,” McCarter said.

"With interest in the international women’s game at an all-time high, we are thrilled that subscribers across Australia can experience the best of Victorian football on Sunday."

Walid Sukkarieh, Director Sport, Production and Content from Optus Sport said: we are also proud to partner with Football Victoria for the 3rd year running to support grass roots domestic Football.

By elevating this match to a wider footballing audience, we are hoping it will help to inspire the next generation, whilst also supporting the current amazing playing group by being able to see themselves housed amongst the best football leagues in the world, showcased on Optus Sport.

Coverage for both the Community Cup Final and Cup Final will be provided for non-subscribers on NPL.TV and Football Victoria's Facebook and YouTube.
