Day 1 of the inaugural Premier Data Victorian Club State Championships has come to close, and what a fantastic day of football it was.
The 3,000 participants were treated to true Melbourne winter conditions at the La Trobe University Sports Precinct, with a blustery morning making way for a soggy afternoon and evening.
But the chilly weather didn’t seem to dampen any spirits, with warm drinks in hands, pancakes from The Pancake Parlour in the belly and red-hot football being played across 19 pitches from sun-up to sun-down.
Those looking for a break from the cold weather, either took advantage of the temporary shelters installed for the wekeend or headed inside to The Home of The Matildas theatrette to catch some FIFA World Cup action on the big screen, something which will no doubt get a good workout across the weekend.
We’ll be back at it again tomorrow, with Day 2 kicking-off from 8am.
For those joining us at the La Trobe University Sports Precinct, remember to utilise the La Trobe University car park options should the spaces fill up at The Home of The Matildas.
And for those following the action from home, remember that all fixtures and results are available through DRIBL and select match streams can be watched thanks to Premier Data.
