The stage is set for one of the biggest weekends of Victorian football ever, as the 2025 Senol NPLM and NPLW Victoria Grand Final matchups are now set and the VPLM and VPLW season finales have their contestants.

It began on Friday night, as Heidelberg United held off a gallant Preston Lions side to win 2-1 and book their place in 2025 Senol NPLM Victoria Grand Final.
Across town, at HC Kim Reserve, the Springvale White Eagles knocked off Altona City in a match that needed a penalty shootout to decide a winner. The White Eagles secured their place in next Sunday's VPLM 2 Promotion playoff match with the win and remain in the hunt to be elevated to the VPLM 1.
Our final big match of Friday night was played between VPLM 1 sides Brunswick City and North Sunshine Eagles, and this one was a blast. North Sunshine sent the match to extra time thanks to a brilliant volleyed 90th minute equaliser, only for Brunswick to score twice in the opening period and put the game to rest. The 3-1 win sees Brunswick City through to the VPLM 1 Promotion playoff match.
We then went to Avenger Park to see a ruthless Avondale side slot an eye-watering eight goals in an emphatic win. Unfortunately, this is where the season ends for the VPLW in 2025, as Bundoora United have been forced to forfeit the Grand Final due to a lack of player availability for the match.
Casey Fields was the scene of our next clash, where Melbourne City held off a fast-finishing Melbourne SRBIJA in an enthralling 4-3 win for the A-League academy side. They will battle it out with Brunswick City for the final promotion spot in the VPLM 1 playoff match next Sunday
From Cranbourne to Bulleen, where our first 2025 Senol NPLW Victoria Semi Final between second placed FC Bulleen Lions and third placed Box Hill United kicked off at 4pm. Bulleen opened the scoring early, but it was all Box Hill from there, who ran out 3-1 winners on their way to their first top-flight Grand Final since 2010.
Heidelberg United vs Essendon Royals kicked off their Senol Semi Final at 4:15 and played out a hotly contested match at Olympic Village. The reigning NPLW Champions scored early and never relinquished their one goal lead, setting up a massive Senol NPLW Victoria Grand Final against Box Hill next Saturday from 4pm at The Home of The Matildas.
Our final deciding match of Saturday was between Brunswick Juventus and the Goulburn Valley Suns, where the Zebras erased a halftime time deficit to win 2-1 and lock up a spot in the VPLM 2 playoff against Springvale White Eagles.
The final game of Preliminary and Semi Final weekend was the highly-anticipated clash between NPLM Premiers Avondale and the sixth-placed Dandenong City at a wild and windy Avenger Park. And in one of the biggest upsets in NPLM history, it was Dandenong City winning through to the Grand Final, knocking off the heavily favoured Avondale 1-0.
