Sale United FC was named Regional Club of the Year at the FVCIB Full-Time Luncheon on Thursday, November 16 as part of the 2023 Football Victoria Community Awards.
The club continues to capitalise on every opportunity provided to grow, running a suite of social programs outside of the standard competitions.
Sale United Secretary, Darlene Richardson said the club does "so much" for football in the area, increasing participation from juniors through to seniors over recent seasons.
"We have had great success on and off the field with our women's team winning everything on offer this year and we have had some of our junior teams winning the league and league cups so that was wonderful," she said.
Sale has grown to over 1,000 players in 2023 and remarkably has female coaches in both its senior men's and women's sides.
Sale United FC Club Coordinator said the club has been focusing on "creating a connection" between the juniors and seniors.
"Without juniors, you can't have seniors so we have really tried to make it a family club that is really important to us along with an increased focus on female football," she explained.
