The 2025 FV Coaching Conference brings together coaches from across Australia for a day of learning, connection, and inspiration. Featuring presentations from leading experts across the game, the conference explores key themes in player development, performance, leadership, and modern coaching practice. It’s an opportunity for coaches to gain valuable insights, share experiences, and continue their professional growth within the football community.

Larrissa Anderson - Senior Publicist at Cavanagh PR and Head Coach Dandenong Rangers NBL1 Women

Larissa Anderson has spent over 25 years at the elite level of Australian basketball as both a player and a coach. A former WNBL player with nearly 300 games, she then went on to establish a distinguished coaching career with four SEABL Championships and a WNBL Grand Final with the Dandenong Rangers, earning five Coach of the Year awards.

She was Assistant Coach for the Melbourne Boomers’ 2022 WNBL Championship and most recently has been back head coaching the Rangers in the NBL1. Beyond the accolades, Larissa is known for her resilience, discipline, and ability to bring out the best in others, whether in high-pressure games, leading teams, or balancing the demands of business, sport, and family life.

Off the court, she is the Managing Director of Cavanagh PR, a boutique public relations agency, where she combines her strategic mind with a deep understanding of people and performance. A proud mum to two ambitious sporty kids, Larissa brings empathy, grit and perspective to everything she does.

Key Highlights

  • As a player, Aloisi made 55 appearances for the Australia national soccer team (the “Socceroos”), scoring 27 goals, placing him among the country’s top all-time scorers.
  • He is especially remembered for converting the decisive penalty in the 2005 shoot-out against Uruguay, which secured Australia’s first FIFA World Cup qualification in 32 years.
  • His club playing career took him across Europe, and he became the first Australian to play and score in the English Premier League, Italy’s Serie A, and Spain’s La Liga.
  • In July 2021, Aloisi took over as head coach of Western United and led the club to its inaugural A-League Championship in 2022.
  • In July 2025, he signed a two-year contract extension with Western United, emphasising his long-term commitment to the club’s growth on and off the pitch.

Aloisi’s journey from elite player to highly respected coach makes him a significant figure in Australian football, bringing invaluable experience in player development, performance under pressure, and building winning culture.

Michael Zappone is a veteran Australian broadcaster with over two decades in television, radio and live event presentation. He is widely recognised for his work in football commentary, having served as host, commentator and boundary-rider for major televised football coverage in Australia, including roles during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Michael’s broadcasting journey began in Melbourne radio in the early 1990s, where he honed his craft covering the National Soccer League and emerging domestic competitions. He subsequently moved into television, becoming a familiar presence on Australia’s free-to-air and subscription networks, bridging the worlds of sport commentary and entertainment.

In addition to his media roles, Michael has established himself as a trusted corporate MC, event host and live-audience facilitator. His skill in translating high-intensity sports environments into engaging broadcast and live formats makes him a sought-after presenter for conferences, gala dinners and major sporting events.

With his depth of experience across broadcast media, live events and sport presentation, Michael continues to bring energy, insight and professionalism to every role he undertakes.

Dave Williams - Psychologist (MAPS, CoSEP)

David is a registered Sport and Exercise Psychologist, based in Melbourne, Australia. He currently serves as the Lead Psychologist for Geelong FC (AFL/AFLW) and the National Team Psychologist for the Matildas.

David has been fortunate enough to consult with all major sporting codes in Australia, and with that has been able to work alongside a range of renowned coaches in their respective fields. David has supported Melbourne FC when led by Paul Roos, Melbourne Storm (Coaching group in 2017), legendary track cycling coach John Beasley (Malaysian Track Cycling), Matildas legend Tom Sermanni, and is now currently fortunate enough to work alongside industry giants in Chris Scott, Nigel Lappin and Joe Montemurro.

Beyond elite football and mainstream sports, David has also contributed his expertise to diverse performance environments such as The Australian Ballet Company, Paralympic Table Tennis, and Australian Wheelchair Rugby.

An eclectic practitioner, David prides himself on working from a systems standpoint and as such sees the athletes and their environments as being ever evolving; thus requiring a multi-layered approach for athlete development and support.
