The inaugural Football Victoria (FV) Corporate Cup took place on Friday, November 25 with Senol claiming the crown after a dramatic turnaround.
Taking place at Knox Regional Sports Park, the competition was a great team-building event where teams played in a round-robin group stage, followed by finals. Each team played a minimum of three matches and there was plenty of opportunity to network and socialise between matches.
FV Social Football Manager Alex Dore said the event was a “very smooth” day.
“Everyone loved it, all the feedback we received was great. It was just a relaxed atmosphere with the day being played in good spirits," he said.
“The format of the day, the pitches, the teams, and the overall morale of the event was really good, everyone was happy.”
A naming rights partner and major supporter of the Victorian game, Senol defeated Physio Inq in the final of the day.
Established 25 years ago as an independent property developer, Senol specialises in the delivery of innovative high-quality residential and commercial property solutions within Victoria.
It was a massive turnaround for the eventual winners, who finished third at the conclusion of the round-robin matches, including a 14-4 loss at the hands of runners-up Physio Inq.
Following the success of this year’s event, plans are in place to ensure the competition continues for years to come.
“The day provided a great opportunity for businesses to come together on the football pitch and network with each other in their breaks which can only strengthen the wider football community.
“We can’t wait to welcome this year's participants and many more teams to next year’s Corporate Cup.”
