Senol NPL Victoria looks ahead to 2027

Football Victoria (FV) has confirmed key dates for the 2027 Senol NPL Men’s and Women’s competitions in the FV Calendar, with both leagues set to kick off on the weekend of February 7 before concluding with their respective Grand Finals on the weekend of September 12.

The 2027 season will feature three designated catch-up rounds, with a NPL catch-up round for both competitions scheduled for the week commencing June 13, followed by the NPLW catch-up round in the week commencing August 1 and the NPLM catch-up round in the week commencing August 8.

The NPLM clubs will join the New Balance Dockerty Cup in the week commencing May 28, ahead of the Final scheduled for the week commencing August 8. NPLW clubs will enter the Nike FC Cup in the week commencing May 23, with the Final scheduled for the week commencing August 1.

With clubs already beginning to announce player signings ahead of the 2027 season, player movement is set to continue across the Senol NPL Victoria competitions in the coming months. While clubs can announce their new additions, official player registrations will be processed within the designated league registration windows.

For the Senol NPL Women’s competition, the first registration window will run from Monday, November 16 to Wednesday, December 16, 2026, with the second window scheduled for Monday, May 17 to Wednesday, May 26, 2027.

In the Senol NPL Men’s competition, the first window will run from Tuesday, January 12 to Thursday, February 4, 2027, with dates for the second registration window to be confirmed.

Following another memorable season in 2026, capped off by South Melbourne’s historic Australia Cup triumph, Victorian football heads into 2027 with plenty to look forward to as the Senol NPL Victoria competitions continue to set the benchmark for NPL football across the country.

Victorian football represented nearly 50% of participants in the Round of 16 in the 2026 Australia Cup, had two Semi Finalists in last year’s edition of the Australian Championship and continues to be a breeding ground for talent making their way into the A-League Women’s competition in record numbers.

The 2026 Senol NPLM Grand Final broadcast reached over 70,000 views on YouTube, and over 20,000 for the Women’s decider. These numbers eclipse all other state competitions around the country and cement Victoria as the hotspot of NPL football.

The 2026 season saw the Oakleigh Cannons claim the Senol NPL Men’s Premiership before Avondale secured the Championship following a dramatic penalty shootout in the Grand Final. In the Women’s competition, Box Hill United claimed the Premiership before Avondale completed an historic double, becoming the first club to win both the Men’s and Women’s Championships in the same season.

Further information, including the full 2027 fixtures and any outstanding registration dates, will be communicated by Football Victoria when available.
