Football Victoria (FV) is aware of a serious incident that took place following the VPL Men’s 1 Round 17 fixture between Northcote City FC and Preston Lions FC at John Cain Memorial Park on Friday, June 7, 2024.
Both FV and Victoria Police will investigate the incident. FV has contacted both Clubs, who join FV in condemning the behaviour and will fully cooperate with the investigation.
FV condemns all forms of anti-social behaviour and violence, in line with FV’s Rules of Competition and Spectator Code of Behaviour. Both this behaviour, and the individuals involved in it, have no place in our game.
FV is engaging with all relevant stakeholders to collect detail on the incident. Attendees who have relevant footage, photos or information from the night are encouraged to share it with discipline@footballvictoria.com.au.
FV has no further comment while the investigation is active, and will share further detail in due course.
