The 2022 Summer Cup concludes after a thrilling weekend of finals

After three weeks of quality junior football, the 2022 Summer Cup concluded on Saturday with the finalists playing off at Casey. The tournament was proudly presented by Senol, who continue to support our game from the grassroots to the elite levels.

The tournament provided juniors with one last chance to get involved in competitive football in 2022, with 712 junior boys and girls representing 63 teams taking part.

Alex Dore, Social Football Manager at Football Victoria was delighted the participation and level of competition throughout the event.

“The FV Summer Cups has been a fantastic competition to round off 2022. There were so many positives to take from the weekend from the level of football played to the team building and comradery on display. All managers and parents should be proud of their players.

"I would also like to sincerely thank Casey Comets FC for hosting the South-East and Finals competitions for 2022 and Senol for their continued support of the Summer Cup – this tournament wouldn’t be possible without them.”

Designed for Under-8 to Under-17 players, the finals united the top teams from the first two weekends of action to battle it out for supremacy. There were plenty of goals, entertaining football and tight contests on display across both the boy's and girl's divisions.
