Victorian Football Scores Big with PILA Goal Post Subsidy Program

Football Victoria clubs, schools, and affiliates are celebrating a major enhancement in local football infrastructure thanks to the successful PILA and Football Victoria goal post subsidy program as part of their commercial partnership.

This initiative, aimed at boosting community sports facilities, provides financial support for new goal posts and upgrades to existing equipment.

Football Victoria CEO Chris Pehlivanis commended the impact of the PILA subsidy program, highlighting its crucial role in transforming local football facilities.

“The Goal Post Subsidy Program has been a tremendous success in enhancing football facilities across Victoria. This investment not only supports grassroots growth but also encourages more young people to participate in sports," he said.

The program is part of Football Victoria’s broader effort to promote community engagement through improved football infrastructure. With these upgrades, local clubs and schools are well-positioned to offer better facilities, fostering increased participation and talent development across the state.

The program has seen widespread participation throughout Victoria, awarding subsidies to numerous community sports clubs. Notable beneficiaries include Mirboo North United FC, Heidelberg Eagles FC, Lyndale United FC, Watsonia Heights FC, and Old Ivanhoe FC, each receiving subsidies for new PILA football goal posts for their sports fields.

Mirboo North United FC received FIFA regulation-compliant full-size 7.32m x 2.44m portable aluminium goal posts for their soccer fields. Heidelberg Eagles FC upgraded their deteriorated PVC goals with new 5m x 2m and 3m x 2m aluminium goal posts, just in time for their spring school holiday program.

Lyndale United FC, with a proud 50-year history in the Victorian State leagues, will enhance their facilities with PILA’s 5m x 2m and 3m x 2m aluminium goal posts to aid their youngest players' development.

Watsonia Heights FC has replaced numerous broken PVC goals with a dozen new 5m x 2m and 3m x 2m aluminium goals for both natural and synthetic pitches, ahead of their U8-U11 Miniroos Cup. Old Ivanhoe FC has replaced non-compliant home-fabricated steel goals with new 5m x 2m and 3m x 2m aluminium PILA portable goals for both their competitive and Kick-Off soccer programs.

As the football goal post subsidy program concludes for this year, anticipation is already building for the next round, promising continued investment in Victoria’s football future.
