Victorians in the A-League

For the remaining weeks of the 2024/25 A-League seasons, we will continue to shine a spotlight on standout performances across the men’s and women’s competitions, featuring Victorian-born players and those who have made their mark in NPL Victoria.

From the Isuzu UTE A-League Men to the Ninja A-League Women, Victorians are making their presence felt in Australia’s top-flight football leagues.

Isuzu UTE A-League Men

Christian Theoharous (Central Coast) – Melbourne Knights
The former Melbourne Knights junior played 59 minutes, registering one shot in Central Coast’s 3-2 defeat against Western United on Friday, February 28.

Tomislav Uskov (Macarthur) – Bentleigh Greens
Uskov completed the full 90 minutes, recording two tackles and 28 passes in Macarthur’s 0-2 loss to Sydney FC on Saturday, March 1.

Aziz Behich (Melbourne City) – Meadow Park, Green Gully
A commanding defensive display from Behich saw him play 90 minutes, making one tackle and completing 73 passes in Melbourne City’s 1-0 victory over Wellington on Friday, February 28.

Kasey Bos (Melbourne Victory) – Hoppers Crossing, Point Cook
Bos delivered a standout performance, scoring one goal, making two tackles, and completing 33 passes in Melbourne Victory’s match against Brisbane Roar on Saturday, March 1.

Dylan Leonard (Western United) – Port Melbourne Sharks
Leonard played the full 90 minutes, contributing two tackles and 60 passes as Western United secured a 3-1 win over Central Coast on Friday, February 28.

Liberty A-League Women

Maja Markovski (Canberra United) – Bulleen Lions NPLW
Markovski played 90 minutes, registering one shot in Canberra’s 1-1 draw with Melbourne City on Saturday, March 1.

Naomi Chinnama (Perth Glory) – FV Emerging, South Melbourne
Chinnama put in a solid shift, playing 90 minutes and completing 72 passes in Perth Glory’s 2-1 loss to Newcastle on Saturday, March 1.

Sarah O’Donoghue (Perth Glory) – Heidelberg United NPLW
O’Donoghue was an attacking threat, registering five shots on goal in Perth’s 2-1 loss to Newcastle on Saturday, March 1.

Kayla Morrison (Melbourne Victory) – Bulleen Lions NPLW
Morrison had a strong performance, playing 90 minutes, scoring one goal, making one tackle, and completing 46 passes.

Julia Sardo (Western United) – Meadow Park, Essendon Royals NPLW
Sardo played 89 minutes, making four tackles and completing 24 passes in Western United’s 1-2 loss to Melbourne Victory on Saturday, March 1.
