Victoria's Denis Genreau signs with Deportiva La Coruna

Brighton FC junior Denis Genreau has signed with La Liga 2 side Deportivo on a contract until 2027, with an option for an additional season.

The midfielder joins from Ligue 1 club Toulouse FC, where he made eight league appearances and two cup appearances this season, scoring one goal. Since arriving at the French club in the 2021-22 season, Genreau played a total of 80 matches, contributing three goals and four assists.

Following his move, he shared an emotional message on Instagram, reflecting on his time at Toulouse and the bonds he formed.

"I have experienced incredible emotions at this club. Thank you to the players, staff, and everyone at the club with whom I have created friendships and bonds that will last a lifetime," he wrote.

"Leaving the club having given everything for the jersey."

Before his time in France, Genreau played for PEC Zwolle in the Eredivisie, as well as Melbourne City and Macarthur in the A-League.

On the international stage, he has represented the Subway Socceroos five times and has also played for Australia at the Under-23 level and the Olympics.
