West Point SC launches first All-Abilities program in the West since 2019

West Point SC proudly launches the first All-Abilities program in the west since 2019.

This groundbreaking initiative was made possible through the collaboration of West Point SC President Amanda Oliver, Wyndham City Council, Kylie Bozanic from Sport4All, and Football Victoria (FV).

The inaugural session kicked off on June 14 at Webster Street Reserve, with over 25 participants registered. Mayor of Wyndham City, Cr Susan McIntyre, along with Cr Peter Maynard, Cr Robert Szatkowski, and Cr Jasmine Hill, attended the opening to congratulate the participants.

Following the successful launch, Cr Peter Maynard expressed his pleasure in being part of this monumental day for the club.

"This Club is the first soccer club in the west to run an All-Abilities Program (since 2019). Their goal is to provide a fun and inclusive environment where everyone can enjoy the beautiful game," he said.

The program ensures that players with disabilities have access to football in a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment, regardless of their abilities, ages, or skill levels.

FV's Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator, Selin Arpaci said she was "thrilled" West Point SC have taken the step to start All Abilities program.

"The club have done an excellent job setting up the program to ensure players have a supportive, welcoming and inclusive experience," she said.

"There has been significant interest for an All-Abilities program in the Wyndham area, and the club’s recognition of this is commendable.”

West Point is one of the biggest Clubs in Wyndham with 45 teams from MiniRoos to Masters.

After the successful Come & Try Session on June 14, the club will run a 12-week program for $240 with spots still available.
