Woodend Eagles SC recognised as Football Victoria’s Club Changer Club of the Month for October

Football Victoria is proud to recognise Woodend Eagles Soccer Club as its October Club Changer Club of the Month, celebrating the volunteers, partnerships and community spirit creating new opportunities for football across the Macedon Ranges.

Founded in 2024 and participating in its inaugural season in Football Victoria's Greater Bendigo League, the Woodend Eagles has quickly established itself as a thriving and inclusive regional club, committed to making football accessible and creating a community where everyone feels welcome, valued and that they belong.

This commitment is reflected in the club’s partnership with Omnia Community Health, participation in Proud2Play’s Rainbow Ready program, and developing partnership with Macedon Ranges Rural Australians for Refugees (MRRAR), helping build connections and reduce barriers to participation.

Through a language request with DJAARA, the club has also received Dja Dja Wurrung team names, recognising Traditional Owners and embedding cultural respect into its identity.

Supported by a dedicated network of volunteers, players, families and community partners, Woodend Eagles is demonstrating how grassroots football can foster inclusion, wellbeing and meaningful community connections.

The club’s impact was further recognised at Football Victoria’s 2026 Community Awards, where it was named Regional Club of the Year.

Woodend Eagles SC is helping shape a more welcoming future for football across the Macedon Ranges, guided by a simple belief: football belongs to everyone.
